Aallright. So someone has just set up a Facebook page "YesBikers simply a profit company" half an hour ago and started posting on our page. So figured we'd better nip this in the bud right now.
'YesBikers ltd' was set up by John McHarg and someone else during the previous administration. Its nonsense and has never had anything to do with us, the 'YesBikers for Scottish independence'. Anyone with £12 can set up a company of any name. The YesBikers who you all ride with and know and love are an unincorporated not for profit association run by a committee for our members. We're not in it for the money and the only reason we sell stuff is to get our name out there and get people seeing our logo and talking about us so that we can grow our organisation and ultimately get more bikes to rallies. We make a markup of £1-3 on the stuff we sell to cover our costs which include website hosting, free stickers at events, event advertising and promotional stuff. We don't have a lot of costs but at the same time, we don't make a lot of money.
YesBikers is run for our members and not for profit, it's in our charter and that's the way it will stay.
The committee of volunteers have spent hundreds of hours of their own time to keep YesBikers going and if you think we're rolling around in cash you're either an imbecile or an utter fool.
So get a grip whichever yoon or bitter pseudo-yesser is behind it, we're going nowhere.
