Aim

The YesBikers' aim is to raise the profile and further the cause of the Scottish independence movement by supporting independence campaigners, events and rallies. We do this by touring the cities and towns of Scotland, helping out at and attending independence events.

Membership

  • There is no formal membership or subscription to the YesBikers.
  • If you ride with us once, either up front or as pillion, you can call yourself a YesBiker.
  • If you have a motorbike and support independence and the aims of the YesBikers, you can call yourself a YesBiker.
  • YesBikers are an inclusive organisation. Membership is open to anyone, and we will not discriminate against anyone on any grounds (other than being a yoon).

Events

  • We will attempt to attend, or consider attending, all Scottish independence related events no matter the organiser or location.
  • There must be a line between what we can and cannot attend. We will not attend non-indy events as the YesBikers, however any YesBiker is free to attend any event they choose, and we may share others' events on our pages by request if appropriate.
  • We may organise our own events or rideouts in support of Scottish independence.
  • We may attend motorcycle events to raise the profile of the YesBikers.
  • We will always endeavour to provide routes several days before any organised event.
  • Where possible a member will do a trial ride of the route prior to any event.
  • The committee will liaise with the police for events where appropriate.
  • When riding with the YesBikers obey the rules of the road. It's your licence and our reputation on the line.
  • When riding with the YesBikers your bike must be road legal in all aspects, including, but not limited to, road tax, insurance and the proper licence for the bike.
  • If any member acts inappropriately, or in a way which may damage our reputation or endanger themselves, our members or members of the public, they will be asked not to come back.
  • We are non party political and do not support any political parties or party events.

Organisation

  • YesBikers is run by a committee appointed by Chris Graham during his time as leader. On his standing down, from the date of the inaugural committee meeting on the 21st of July 2017, full control and assets of the YesBikers passed to the committee. From that date it was decided that there will be no leader, and all decisions will be made by the committee, each member with an equal vote.
  • The full name of the organisation is 'Yes Bikers for Scottish Independence'. This is often abbreviated to 'YesBikers'.
  • YesBikers is a not for profit organisation.
  • All money raised by the YesBikers will be spent solely on the objects laid out in the constitution.
  • No person shall personally benefit financially from any of the activities of the YesBikers.
  • Committee members must be voted in or out unanimously by the remaining committee members.
  • Changes to the YesBikers constitution must be by unanimous vote.
  • Any other matters decided upon by the committee must be by majority vote.
  • No single person should be in control of any of the YesBikers' core assets at any time. These include but are not limited to: Facebook page, Twitter account, web domain, bank account, PayPal account.
  • Committee meetings will be held at least bimonthly where possible during the campaign/biking season.
  • Records of income and expenditure will be maintained by the Treasurer and a financial statement given at each meeting.
